Montgomery Medical granted full Accreditation by NAME
Jun 24, 2019  -  The Montgomery Medical facility was recently granted “Full Accreditation” status by the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME). This objective recognition by an independent third party demonstrates that the policies, procedures, and forensic casework performed by the staff of Montgomery Medical exceeds the National standard. Congratulations to Montgomery Medical and all who played a pivotal role in achieving this prestigious national recognition!!!
Notice of Biological Specimens Kits Recall
Jun 21, 2019  -  Sirchie, the manufacturer of the ADFS Biological Specimens Kits (BSKits), has recently issued a recall for blood tubes that may be present in potentially affected lot numbers of BSKits. The recall by Sirchie was issued in conjunction with their Vacutainer® blood tube supplier Becton Dickinson. The recall relates to the manufacturing process associated with three (3) packaging cases of 100 grey stopper tubes.
ADFS mentioned in Washington Post article focused on success of DNA grant program
Mar 26, 2019  -  For 15 years, the Justice Department has tried to reduce the backlog of crime scene DNA samples awaiting testing at state and local crime labs. But despite about $1 billion in federal spending to cut the number of untested cases, the number has grown by 85 percent in the past six years, according to a Government Accountability Office report issued Friday.
