With the passage of the Alabama Armed Services Accommodation Act (Acts of Alabama, Act 2015-432) in 2015, the Legislature for the State of Alabama
recognized there was a compelling public policy need to provide for a process that would allow the employees and representatives of the Alabama
Department of Forensic Sciences to appear as witnesses in civil or criminal trials via video testimony. Upon motion by either party, and upon
consent by both parties, a circuit or district judge may permit testimony in a civil or criminal case by two-way video-conference presented in
open court if the testimony is given under oath and subject to cross-examination.
Video Testimony
Since that time, ADFS employees and representatives have testified across Alabama via video testimony.
ADFS is proud of its ability to service the judicial system and the people of Alabama, while attempting to maximize the time and
resources provided to the Department.
