PFT Barrel Measurement
State and federal laws require a minimum overall and barrel length for firearms intended to be fired from the shoulder, also referred to as long guns. The legal minimum requirement for rifles is a barrel length of sixteen (16) inches and overall length of twenty-six (26) inches. The legal minimum requirement for shotguns is a barrel length of eighteen (18) inches and overall length of twenty-six (26) inches (Alabama State Code §13A-11-62).
TriggerScan™ System Trigger Pull Force Analysis
One of the examinations conducted in a firearms identification examination is determining the trigger pull of a firearm. Trigger pull is defined as the amount of force that must be applied to the trigger of a firearm to cause sear release. This examination can provide important information regarding the mechanical operating condition of the firearm.
