Firearms Database Services
NIBIN is a database-driven multimedia imaging system designed to capture the image of markings made by the firearm on fired components to increase the effectiveness of the forensic firearm examiner.
Capabilities include:
- Digital image capturing of fired cartridge cases and shot shells that meet imaging criteria through a software program known as “BrassTRAX”
- Sharing database information with other crime laboratories state and nationwide, if requested
